Welcome to the Hale Mahina Resort on the west side of Maui. Hale Mahina is a small complex with four stories and 52 units of ocean front living. Most units are individually owned and operated. The purpose of this web site is for individual owners to promote their respective units and to communicate with each other. Hale Mahina is a special place where family and friends love to gather. However, please be aware that the booking of large groups and multiple units is discouraged in an effort to preserve the ambiance and amenities for all guests staying at the resort. We kindly request that when making your reservation if you are booking as a group, that your party does not exceed more than 12 persons and no more than 3 separate units are booked for the same time period. A number of sinkholes have appeared on the property which restricts access to the lawn in some areas. These areas are cordoned off for guest safety. In 2026, repairs to the seawall will begin and will continue into 2027. While an accurate schedule is not yet known, the project will occur in phases. Here is a general idea of how things might progress:
Q1-Q2 2026: Initial Planning Phase. This phase involves the high-level design, surveys, and permit applications.
Q2 2026: Bidding and Pre-construction Phase. This phase involves hiring contractors and obtaining state-certified surveys and initial material procurement
Q3: Site planning, project scheduling and site preparation
Q4 – Q1/Q2 2027: Construction work takes place
The ambiance of Hale Mahina will be affected (most likely later in 2026 and early 2027) but we will try to maintain access to the beach area on the southside of the property. Due to the volume of emails received, individual questions cannot be addressed. Check back often for updates on the progress and view the webcam for a real-time picture of the work.
